“Heart-stopping.” “Adrenaline rush.” “An event like no other.” Much has been said about the addicting sport that is reined cow horse. But if a picture is worth a thousand words, then video must be worth a million.

The “Down the Fence” documentary packs a million emotions into an hour-and-a-half film, making it a must-see for every horse and animal lover. Produced by Lori Adamski-Peek and MJ Isakson, “Down the Fence” is now available to view in a multitude of formats, including on-demand on Netflix.

As the film shows, it takes a special horse to compete in reined cow horse – equine athletes are tasked with competing in the three events of herd work, rein work and fence (cow) work. American Quarter Horses dominate in this sport, so it’s no wonder that countless Quarter Horses made it onto the movie’s silver screen. There were 18 in particular, though, who stole the show.

Diving into AQHA records, we rounded up the horses’ two-generation pedigrees. If you’re looking for more in-depth pedigrees, visit www.aqha.com/records. (Remember: Current AQHA members receive $10 per month for complimentary records research.)
